Miami University Model United Nations Conference
Fifteen years ago, Miami University’s Model United Nations team launched a high school conference, known as MUMUNC, with the objective of providing high school delegates a place where they could comfortably learn parliamentary procedure and debate from experienced collegiate delegates. Now in its fifteenth year, MUMUNC has continued to show success in allowing high school teams to compete in a smaller setting. While the committees and people have varied over the years, we continue to be committed to the two following principles:
Training Delegates
One of the core tenets of MUMUNC is the creation of an atmosphere which allows high school students to become comfortable with Model UN and debate. We’ve continued to emphasize the importance of training for all of our chairs and we work to make our conference a great learning experience.
Size and Tradition
MUMUNC continues to be a small and intimate environment. With a smaller group of students in attendance, our staff is able to focus on an individual’s needs and growth. We continue to emphasize our small size as one of our conference’s greatest assets.
