Your Chair: Ryan Barr
Hello! I’m a senior Diplomacy and Global Politics major from Milton, Georgia, and I look forward to working with all of you at MUMUNC this year! I’ve done Model UN since seventh grade, so as you can tell, I’ve quite enjoyed my time. At Miami, I served as Deputy Secretary-General for three years. My main academic interests are foreign policy and history. Outside of Model UN and school, I enjoy reading old books, studying languages, and watching government procedurals.
Your Co-Chair: Jillian Haines
Hi! I am a sophomore from Columbus, Ohio, double-majoring in Political Science and Strategic Communication. I’ve been involved in Model United Nations since sixth grade, and my experiences have fueled my passion for international relations, law, and debate. I’m pursuing a pre-law track and am actively involved in Women in Law and IGNITE, where I engage in leadership and advocacy initiatives. Outside of academics and MUN, I enjoy watercolor painting, reading, baking, traveling, exploring music, and discovering new TV shows. I’m excited to bring both experience and enthusiasm to MUMUNC.
Your Backroom Head: Thomas McCarthy
Thomas McCarthy is the backroom head for the Conclave committee at MUMUNC XVII. He serves as the Secretary General of MUMUN, a position he has held since 2024. Thomas is a senior Political Science major with a minor in History. He is from Ottawa Hills, Ohio, and has been doing MUN since his freshman year of high school, making this his 8th year doing Model UN!
When he’s not doing MUN, Thomas is involved in the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, where he held a leadership role. After graduating, Thomas hopes to pursue a career in law.
Thomas is excited to provide a fun and engaging MUMUNC experience for everyone!
